Industry Knowledge

Nitrile Rubber (NBR)-A copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile.

It exhibits excellent resistance to gasoline and aliphatic hydrocarbon oils—surpassed only by polysulfide, acrylate, and fluororubbers, and outperforming other general-purpose rubbers. It also offers good heat resistance, air impermeability, wear resistance, and water resistance, along with strong adhesive properties.

Its drawbacks include poor resistance to cold temperatures and ozone, relatively low strength and elasticity, poor acid resistance, inferior electrical insulation, and limited resistance to polar solvents.
