Industry Knowledge

Nitrile Rubber (NBR)-A copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile.

It exhibits excellent resistance to gasoline and aliphatic hydrocarbon oils—surpassed only by polysulfide, acrylate, and fluororubbers, and superior to other general-purpose rubbers. It offers good heat resistance, favorable airtightness, strong wear and water resistance, and high adhesive strength.

Its drawbacks include poor resistance to cold temperatures and ozone, relatively low strength and elasticity, poor acid resistance, inferior electrical insulation properties, and limited resistance to polar solvents.
